Professional ethics are meant to convey a clear message that members of a profession should behave morally and appreciate the ethical dimensions of their work. They communicate particular understandings of ethical practice and construct certain relationships and actions as more valuable than others.
During this 3-hour webinar, provided over 2 days, Karma will discuss the historical and theoretical contexts that inform social work ethics and provide a critical overview of their strengths and limitations. The webinar will conclude with a brief description of alternative and complementary ethical approaches, including ecological ethics, that may support social workers to better navigate their complex practice contexts.
This webinar lays the foundation for subsequent webinars that will delve further into the field of professional ethics and ethical practice.
